A group of journalists gets verbally and physically attacked leaving the court
What you are seeing in the video is a group of men and women walking out of the Baku Grave Crimes Court. Few of them confirm they are coming out of Khadija Ismayil's trial. They are clearly instructed not to make any comments, none of them say anything at first but a few confirm they were coming out of the trial [still there is no information as to their relationship to Khadija or the case]. One man in particular and an elderly woman get aggressive and assault the journalists. The reporter from the VoA, later says the man tried breakig his camera and beating him.
Another news outlet, Meydan TV reported the same man broke one of the cameras on the spot.
Earlier today, journalists from the court room reported that the court room was completely full with people who were allegedly paid 5 to 10 manats to attend the hearing and fill up the room.
Looks like they were too upset they had to spend their whole day at the court room with such small compensation. Or perhaps they were just angry with the closed trial and none of Khadija's friends or family members being able to attend the hearing?
