Paid fake court attendants
Journalist, Avaz Zeynalli, in an interview outside the court room in Baku said he had information that the fake attendants inside the court room were being paid between 5-10 manats. Ironically Zeynalli suggested that people left outside the court should to collect this money and give it to the staff at the grave crimes unit so they too are allowed to get in.
According to Zeynalli this is not uncommon. Often there is a list of names who are invited when they are needed to fill out the court room. "I am familiar with that court room. It can fit it anywhere between 60 to 80 people".
Speaking about the prosecutor and the case in general, Zeynalli said the people in charge of the case, like the prosecutor, often deal with highly politicised cases. Often the goal is to hide the process or keep it as closed as possible from the public.
