Tural Mustafayev responds to Khadija Ismayil's request in a Facebook post
"Rasim Aliyev is dead. There is another young man who died in Mingachevir. What if I too die tomorrow? What will change? Who is it you trust? Is the EU? Or maybe NATO? Is it the US? Or the Azerbaijani people who have lived for thousands years burdened? Or you trust these people who ready to falsify elections for just 70manats? You have invited me to come to the hearing on August 26 to clarify my position in your case. Ok, so what if I come and tell you and the rest of the court that my lawyer and I have different positions? What will that change? You think they will drop your sentence to 5 years? Why does it matter if its 9 or 5 years? If you want to write a letter of apology you can do that within your first year. There is no need in waiting another 5 or 9 years for that. My consciousness is as clear as yours. You may not believe it. But one day, when there is an opportunity, and this government is gone and all the archives reopen then everything is going to be crystal clear. Unlike you, I trust no one. I only trust myself and believe that I too will have my turn and get my revenge. My only wish until then is that you all leave me alone..."
