Marking Khadija's 40th birthday in 40 cities
Sport for Rights campaign is rolling up its sleeves in collaboration with other networks to coordinate a series of protests in cities around the world on May 27, the day Khadija Ismayil turns 40.
"We are aiming for the symbolic number of 40 protests but will need your help!" says the message on a Facebook event page.
"If you are moved by Khadija's case and want to take a stand for human rights in Azerbaijan, please consider organising a peaceful protest action in your city."

Khadija Ismayil happy for her newly released friends
Lawyer Yalchin Imanov, says Khadija is happy her friends out but has no expectations for her own release. Imanov who spoke to Khadija shortly after the release of 14 political prisoners says she is feeling good and remains an optimist.
Speaking to AzadliqRadiosu Imanov reminded that there is still no date set for the appeal hearing. "We have sent the appeal on January 19. This Moday, Khadija's lawyers made additions to the appeal. We are demanding our in complaint termination of criminal proceedings based on acquittal. Providing evidence, we have also expressed our views on each of the charges. If the court is independent, then Khadija Ismayil will be released", said Imanov.
