According to the most recent update the staff of the local Bureau of Liberty was escorted out. Only two staff members left inside with the lawyer and other emloyees of the prosecutor office. The search continues.
This morning, approximately at 10.30AM members of the Azerbaijan Prosecutor's Office raided Azadliq Radio Baku Bureau located on the second floor of the "Caspian Business" Center.
Kenan Aliyev, the Director of RFE/RL's Azerbaijani Service said "the forced themselves inside the building and now they are conducting a serach. They presented some papers claiming this is part of an investigation".
No explanation was given in relation to which investigation the search was conducted.
All phone lines and internet connection were cut.
The staff was held in a conference room unable to use their computers or mobiles phones while the prosecutor office carried out the search.
In a press statement, spokesperson for the Prosecutor General Office Eldar Sultanov said this search was related to the criminal case being investigated by the Investigations Department of the Serious Crimes of Prosecutor General's Office.
