Twitter fight
Following Daniel Baer's tweet on Azerbaijan, Novruz Mammadov the country's Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration and Director of Foreign Relations Department was quick to respond also in a tweet, "Mr. Baer's preconceived expressions harming the U.S. and Azerbaijan relations."
Mammadov was quick to add: "Mr. Baer forgets that the country thats truly the land of violence, corruption and arrests is his very own coutry, U.S."
President's press secretary says there is nothing illegal in the raid
Azer Gasimov, press secretary said "laws are equally applied. And noone should underestimate the legitimacy of the search carried out at the Azadliq Raqdio Baku bureau as well as other legal procedures".
Ali Hasanov says Azerbaijan is not afraid of the West
Hasanov, the head of the Social Political Department at the Presidential Administration commented on the international reactions to recent crackdown in Azerbaijan accusing the U.S. and the EU of breaking "entire ethical framework".
Hasanov adviced the country's critics to check their own human rights and freedoms record before coming after Azerbaijan.
"Those who do not see any serious problems in their countries have no right to criticize us", said Hasanov.
"Azerbaijan is an independent state carrying out its policies in accordance with the will of the people and no further pressure or threats or non-diplomatic rhetoric will give any results and all the unfounded allegations will be given an adequate response".
Interrogation continues of Azadliq Radio Baku staff
Questioning of current and past radio staff continues in Baku today.
Still however, noone knows the reasons behind the interrogation or the raid which took place on Friday December 26.
